The best pies are hard to find
Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you Matthew 7:7

I couldn't agree more with that statement, especially when it comes to Pedro's Pies in Homebush . Hidden away from absolutely every possible passerby and main street is Pedro's Pie at Homebush West. If you don't seek, there is probably no way you will find the place.

The store has been there since 1979 and is only open on weekdays from 7 am to 3 pm. They bake the most heavenly and fresh and tasty pies, Paninis, manooshes and rolls and serve their loyal customers who have been coming there regularly, some for over 10 years.

I met Paula, their owner, at the store who seemed to know every customer on a first name basis. They don't advertise anywhere, they are not easy to find and yet every day they sell out in full and have a roaring business. Pedro's is apt for a case study on 'how do you ensure business success by repeat customers'.

I found out about Pedro's pies from a dear friend who lives in the neighbourhood and accidentally found this place. The one thing they highly recommended was a breakfast dish called the 'manooshe'. Manooshe is a Lebanese breakfast bread made with a variety of toppings. The one I had in Pedro's was topped with sesame and oregano. Warmed to the perfect temperature, topped with capsicum, lettuce and tomato, folded into a roll this $4.5 masterpiece was the best breakfast I have had in a very long time.

Paula was curious when she saw me at the store (new face) and asked me how I found out about it. I told her it was word of mouth and after exchanging pleasantries when I left, I think we both knew I was surely coming back.
