Grab yourself a good old American style meal today
America is a pretty long plane trip from Australia. Thankfully, Pearl's Diner has eliminated the need to go there! Not too far out from the city, this diner offers classic American diner-style food including juicy, homemade hamburgers, crispy fries, fried chicken, waffles and milkshakes. Pearl's Diner popped up not too long along in the back streets of the suburb Felixstow. Nothing stands out about the building and it's very easy to drive past; however, once you know it's there you're going to find it hard not to stop. Pearl's diner is the first permanent location for the two businesses Burger Theory and La Waffle, which used to be run out of food trucks.
Even though it's still fairly new, the word is getting around so you could be in for a wait as bookings cannot be made. However they do recommend that if you go during the first 2 hours of opening or the last half an hour before closing, there isn't likely to be much of a wait. On Wednesday to Friday the diner is open for dinner from 5.30pm to 9pm, on Saturday from 11.30am to 3pm for lunch then from 5.30pm until 9pm, then again for Sunday lunch from 11.30am to 3pm.
If you're not up for a full meal you can just stop by for a drink as there is also a range of various coffees and teas available. If you are however up for a feast, the prices are reasonable, the staff are friendly, and the meals are delicious. So put away your passport, get rid of your dollar bills and instead head to Pearl's friendly neighbourhood diner for a taste of America.
