Make your own chocolates in a mini muffin tin
I always thought that if I wanted to make chocolates, that I needed to buy a chocolate mould - which of course, I never got around to doing. Then I realised that I could make my own chocolates at home using a mini muffin tin and some matching patty pan cases - easy! When you make your own chocolates in a patty pan case, you also get the pretty ridges up the sides of your chocolates - so they taste delicious and look good too!

This is an easy recipe that uses every day ingredients that you may already have inside your pantry already. These chocolate bites don't need any expensive essences or liquors, just simply flavours that you already know and love. Why don't you give this recipe a try this weekend? You won't stop at one...

What You Need

2 cups Nestle Milk Chocolate Choc Bits (split into 2 x 1 cups)
3 teaspoons desiccated coconut
6 teaspoons peanut butter
6 teaspoons strawberry jam
2 teaspoons granulated nuts
12 mini muffin patty pans
Mini muffin tin

What To Do - Add the ingredients into the patty pans

What To Do

1/ Place 12 mini patty pans into a mini muffin tin.

2/ Place 1 cup of the Nestle Choc Bits into a microwave-safe bowl and heat up for 30 seconds, then stir. Repeat until you can stir and the chocolate is smooth.

3/ Working quickly, place 1/2 a teaspoon of melted chocolate into the bottom of each patty pan.

4/ Sprinkle 1/4 of a teaspoon of desiccated coconut over the top, then add 1/2 teaspoon of peanut butter, 1/2 teaspoon of jam and a sprinkle of granulated nuts.

Cover all the ingredients with more melted chocolate

5/ Place the last cup of Nestle Choc Bits into another microwave-safe bowl and microwave at 30-second intervals until smooth. Spoon 1 teaspoon of melted chocolate over the top of each one, then spread it over the top to cover the ingredients underneath.

6/ Place in the freezer for 2 hours until set. Remove the mini muffin tin and peel the patty pans off the chocolates. Put aside the ones you would like to eat and defrost for 10 minutes prior to serving. Place the rest in a container to store in the freezer.

The best part of this easy recipe is that you can mix up the ingredients to your taste. As long as you have melted chocolate on the top and bottom, you can experiment with other jam flavours, nuts and spreads. Enjoy!
