The beautiful heritage listed buildings of Payneham Road Uniting Church are a well known wedding venue.

Payneham Road Uniting Church is an intercultural community where people come together from a multitude of cultures and countries to encourage and learn from each other. One of their colourful community events is the annual Craft Fair and Market. It began in 1999 and is kept running each year by a dedicated band by craftspeople who love creating, fellowship and raising funds to maintain the beautiful buildings.

The Craft Fair and Market features many different exhibitors, who showcase quality local, hand-made goods. Have a chat to any of the stall holders and you will hear the skill and creativity that goes into the unique items you will find here. Asa, from The Australian Wheatbag Store , designs and screen prints her own material before turning the beautiful fabric into contemporary and stylish wheatbags.

One of my favourites are the clever cuddly Pillow Pets and birds by Daisy Chain .

Autumn Glow create candles with a difference by repurposing kitchen glassware and teacups. Alyssium Delights have a range of gluten free slices and cakes, along with regular delectable treats. Broughton River Gourmet/Heritage Fine Foods make a selection of Australian Bush foods, sauces, jams, chutneys, mustards and butters. Once Upon a Tree will have their gorgeous laser cut jewellery on display.

Need a new Christmas t-shirt for your kids? Thrill Rudolph and wear a reindeer by Grauntie's Gingham Designs . The kids can have their faces painted by Demsey and Keeley at Function Face Painting .

And it's not only kids that will have all the fun. The Craft Fair and Market have lucky dips for ADULTS! At $2 for 3 tickets, you can maximise your chances for a very inexpensive investment. (Remember, even if you don't win one of the 20 prizes, you are helping to keep these beautiful buildings standing for many years to come.)

The church will hold stalls selling beaded jewellery, papercraft supplies, handmade leather bags and patchwork bags. Gardeners will make a beeline to the plant stall. There will be a children's drawing table and children's wear. And it wouldn't be a fair without the 'follow your nose' stalls: the sausage sizzle, devonshire tea and cake stall!

All the fun of the fair. New treasures to take home! All the responsibility of preserving our heritage buildings for others to enjoy. Old treasures that will keep guarding the Payneham Road intersection.
