The Osbourne Hotel Goes to the Dogs (in a Good Way)
Calling all booze hounds! The Osbourne Hotel is about to host its inaugural Paws & Pints event this Sunday, November 12. If you love your dog as much as you love a good brew, this event is definitely for you.
Event organisers say, "In the most (p)awesome breaking news ever, the recently re-opened Osbourne Hotel on the comer of Anne and Constance Streets is about to go to the dogs… and everyone is invited!"
Obviously only good boys and girls are allowed at this event. So no biting, no weeing on the floor and definitely no fighting. The dogs will need to be well behaved and socialised too.
The backyard area of The Osbourne Hotel will be transformed into a pup's paradise as happy hounds and their handlers enjoy some social drinks from 11am to 3pm. Of course the beers are only for the humans, but there will be a Yappy Hour from 11am to 1pm. Your furry mates can have some water instead. There's going to be a special surprise four legged hotel ambassador announced on Monday who will attend the event too #photoopportunity. Speaking of photo op's, you can have some selfie fun in the adorable Puppy Photo Booth. Plus, there are plenty more surprises in store for the hounds and their humans on the day.
The organisers tell WeekendNotes it's, "Supported by Stone & Woof, oh we mean Wood, creators of the famous Growllllers," adding, "The event will raise funds for the Animal Welfare League QLD."
You can donate to AWLQ with cash or tap to donate with Eftpos on the day. Animal Welfare League operates no kill animal shelters that could not do their lifesaving work without kind donations from the public and businesses. They work closely with councils, government and rescue groups to improve outcomes for stray, abandoned and surrendered pets. So not only will you and Deefer have a good time, you'll be supporting other fur-babies in need too.
"The bar team at The Osbourne are all ready to paw sensational local and craft beers from our 94 taps, while our four-legged guests will be spoilt with doggy treats, lucky dog prizes and more," said The Osbourne Hotel Manager Jason Hirt.
The Osbourne is a family owned hotel with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. They've got a delicious menu on offer with your favourites and a few delicious surprises too. The hotel has been around since 1864 and while the décor has changed, the friendly service remains the same.
This is such a great idea and is sure to bring the community of local dog lovers together. There's definitely going to be a great atmosphere on the day and plenty of wagging tails. Dog people are so friendly (just no sniffing butts without permission first please!) so come along; it's sure to be a (dog) treat.
