Don't have a dog?

Don't worry! You can still get involved in PAWGUST 2019 by doing your 30-minute walk each day solo or with your human best mate! There's a reason this challenge is so popular and fun to take part in - You can walk whenever suits you, morning, noon or night. Find walking tips here!

By joining in and receiving donations for PAWGUST, you'll be directly helping support Guide Dog puppies currently in training.

One day, with your help, these very special puppies will go on to be the guiding eyes for people in your local community living with vision loss or blindness.

Where will the money you raise go in 2019?

A quality leather collar for a Guide Dog pup in training. ($22.00)

Guide Dogs Australia believe that vision loss will not and should not limit a person's independence.

They provide assistance to anyone with vision loss, no matter what age or level of vision and they work to ensure that people with low vision or blindness are active and involved members of the community.

They breed, raise and train dogs.

They have orientation and mobility services include the development of skills in the use of long canes, guide dogs and other mobility aids.

In some states across Australia they provide Autism Assistance Dogs, Therapy Dogs, and Companion Dogs.

They teach people with vision loss daily living skills which offset the impacts of vision loss through skills development and specialised equipment.

They provide training on the use of adaptive technology and specialist equipment which facilitate continued access to information, social and community activities.

They support clients in navigating funding.

They advocate on behalf of their clients to make the community an easier place in which to live and work.

By raising funds this PAWGUST, you are supPAWting these vital services!

PAWGUST Starts on 1st August and finishes on 30th August.

Your Comment
The SA Government gives no funding for Guide Dogs at all. They have to rely on donations of cash from the general public, also food and other items from companies who support them.
