Wrap yourself in the warmth of sweet smelling quilts
The place to be from Saturday 13th of May to Sunday the 28th of May from 10 am to 4 pm (closed Tuesdays) is the Warrantina Lavender Farm at 105 Quayle Road Wandin Yallock Victoria 3139
Why? The smell of sweet perfume fills the air and the bees hum happily around you in this scenic setting. The white and purple lavender encloses you while you sip tea or champagne in the rustic tea rooms and you will be surrounded by a stunning Patchwork Exhibition. This is what you will find at the Warratina Lavender Farm and you will be sharing a wonderful day out with friends commenting on the magnificent selection of local quilts created by local patch workers.
Yum - which is nicer - the food or the flowers?
Lucky there is such a variety for sale and don't forget to buy gifts from the gift shop. They have lovely purple teddies for toddlers, plus cosmetics, fragrances and soaps.
This wonderful event is hosted by Quilt Yarn and Sew and supports the local Country Fire Authority (CFA). Entry is only $5.00 with $4 Concession and children under 12 are free, so you can start their education in the art of quilting early in their lives. Bring those grandchildren along and maybe a picnic too or enjoy the treats on offer at the tea house.
And while you are there you can check out their function facilities for that fabulous 40th, Anniversary, or Wedding. And they will take your breath away. With views like this and such a quick trip out of Melbourne, you are going to need to book well in advance, as they are very popular.
And this exhibition is the perfect opportunity to go and have a sticky beak. What better way to support the CFA and have a lovely escape from the city day!
