mmmm coffee and cake - or lunch
Pastry and Pieces of Sale is a bakery that serves delicious coffee and a wide range of cakes, pastries and lunch food - either eat in or take away. All baked on the premises.

Coffee and cake

My favourite has to be the Jelly Slice, that traditional temptation with a layer of firm red jelly over a creamy filling on a biscuit base. For some reason, when I make this, the jelly always slides off, so I am always interested in finding a supplier of this goodie.
Also their cheesecake slice is very creamy and moreish, without being too sweet or bland - a common mistake in cheesecake.

Coffee includes all the usual favourites, you can ask for sugar or sweetener to be added if you are taking it away.

Lunch, wraps, foccacia
Lunch ideas

If you are going to eat lunch, then the wraps are very nice - I like the lamb wrap with salad - fresh, but you can also choose a toasted wrap, toasted foccacia or sandwich. Also plates of salad if you are sitting down to eat.

Lots of seating

Pastry and Pieces opens early if you are after breakfast, such as a bacon and egg sandwich, and is very popular with local businesses at the start of the day. They are rightly proud of their award winning range of pies, and display the awards in the cafe.

Proud of their pie awards

With a choice of seating either inside or out, Pastry and Pieces offers a great opportunity for lunch with friends, or a refreshing time out on your journey further east.
