Driving through the back streets in Elizabeth, we came across a unique little restaurant. It was situated in a heritage-style building named "Rosewood", across from a pretty little park. (2/3 Hilcott St, Elizabeth North SA 5113)

Thinking we were choosing between two restaurants; we read the signs, coffee, pancakes and pasta, or steak and schnitzel for the other. I chose the door that offered gelato and stepped inside. The two stores were joined, so I could have the best of both!

Talking to the proprietor, we found we were privileged to be among his early customers because the shop had been empty for around a year. The current owner spent a month cleaning and is just launching all their new menus. They offer eat-in, take-away, and delivery through Menulog. Some favourites include chips, schnitzel packs, yiros, and spuds. Their spuds are interesting because not every takeaway place makes a "spud".

The breakfast menu includes muffins, toasties, and rolls. For the health-conscious, there are special vegetarian options and a range of smoothies. The decor is uniquely Aussie, with birds in the rafters, and the atmosphere relaxed.
