Pasta Deli at Norwood offers not only pasta but a wide range of Italian dishes. Their dishes can either be enjoyed at the cafe (the staff will heat them for you) or taken home to enjoy at your own leisure.

The slices of beef in the Lean Beef & Broccoli Salad were quite tender with the chunks of broccoli still retaining a bit of bite. Slices of capsicum added a bit of sweetness and the use of kecap manis (sweet soy sauce) in the dressing gave the dish a bit of Asian flair. We thought the Chicken Schnitzel was a bit over-fried but the crispy crumb coating still set off the flesh nicely.

We were delighted that the potatoes, carrots and pumpkin in the Roast Vegetables still retained a bit of bite and were of a size to make eating them a satisfying experience. Spinach leaves provided a bit of freshness and the vegetables were lightly dressed to ensure the dish was not too dry.

The bolognese filling in the Bolognaise Filled Arancini was flavoursome and the risotto rice encasing it was not too gluggy. It was also fried sufficiently to a nice golden-brown colour and provided a contrast to the softer filling. Their Tuna Croquettes had a light and fluffy texture and contained a sufficient amount of tuna. Both of these dishes came with a small serving of salad to provide a bit of freshness.

The portion size of the Chicken Caesar Panini was quite generous. The slices of crumbed chicken had a crispy coating and lettuce provided freshness and crispiness. Enough Caesar dressing was used to give the dish the expected flavour and the panini was not over toasted.

Their Tiramisu was a joy to eat - the sponge cake was light and fluffy and had the flavour of a good Tiramisu. A generous dusting of cocoa powder gave the cake its rich chocolatey taste and the topping of whipped cream served to balance out the richness.

The Cannoli had a light and crispy shell and was of a size to make it a satisfying dessert. It was filled with vanilla and chocolate cream that was not too sweet and a dusting of icing sugar completed the dish.

Zeppoles are a type of Italian doughnut that are traditionally consumed during Saint Joseph's Day on the 19th of March. While it may look thick, the texture of the Zeppole was actually light and crisp and the dusting of sugar gave them a sweet flavour that was not too overpowering. Aside from plain Zeppoles, Pasta Deli also sells Zeppoles that are filled with custard cream.

While there is no indoor seating, a good number of seats is available outside the store for those that desire to enjoy the food onsite. Its location on The Parade makes it a convenient stop for visitors to Norwood that are looking for a quick tasty meal or a snack.
