Amazing benefits - Support Riding for the Disabled
The McIntyre Centre is a not-for-profit charity which was founded by Peter and June McIntyre in 1964 on their property in Kenmore. The Centre is at the current location since 1973. It was the first centre that offered Riding for the Disabled in Australia.
This year is a milestone year that marks both the 50th birthday of the Centre as well as 50 years of RDA in Australia. The McIntyre Centre provides valuable weekly therapeutic riding programs to approximately 200 children and young people with a disability. Government funding is minimal and the centre depends on the generosity of the community to support its thrift shops and fundraising programs and events.
Party in the Paddock is the biggest fundraiser for the year and the target is to raise more than $50,000 which will directly subsidise riding programs for more than 40 children over a 12 month period. This subsidy makes it affordable for families to gain access to the benefits of therapeutic riding.
Veronica White from the RDA said 'having been part of the Centre for more than 3 years now I can personally vouch for the incredible benefits that these beautiful children can achieve. The more people who know about us and the valuable service we provide to the community the better chance we have to continue to operate and help many more children in need.'
The Party in the Paddock is on from1pm - 6pm and will include:
There will be face painting, bungee run and a petting zoo. Enjoy a silent auction ,fashion show, live music and the all famous BBQ and market stalls. Relax and join the team from RDA in celebration of Simple Pleasures - Amazing Benefits , and contribute to a great cause.
Please note wristbands for kids rides and tickets for pony rides will need to be purchased prior to the event. See website for details or email email@example.com for more info. The RDA is thankful to all sponsors of the event for their generous contributions. This great community support is what allows the RDA to continue providing affordable therapeutic riding to families.
