Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans - John Lennon

No experience required and a guaranteed great time for all
This long weekend has been jam-packed but in a good way! I realise how easy it is to get caught up in the daily grind that I forgot how much fun it is to get active under the sun. With social media and technology these days, I also find it quite hard to "disconnect" and remain "offline". While we are all connected online, how connected are we in real life?
Launched in August 2016, Party Fun 4 All is a family business with a humble mission - to encourage members of our community to take time out from our busy schedule to celebrate and spend time with our family, friends and work colleagues, all in a fun activity-based setting. My friend and I had the pleasure to participate in one of their community bubble soccer games followed by a session of laser tag last Saturday at Mason Park, Homebush. It was a day where fun knows no age, and big kids like us let loose of our competitive sides.
Squads of the day!
While the gusty weather did not permit us to have a fully set up soccer arena, it did not deter us from having a blast. First, we were given detailed instructions on how to suit up in a human sized clear bubble by our very friendly host, Hue. The bubble might look intimidating at first, but it was incredibly easy to put on. It is also light-weighted yet sturdy, which means we can run around easily (however do note that it can get quite hot under the sun in the bubble so definitely wear appropriate clothing).
Game on - bubble soccer!
Split into 2 groups, we competed in 2 x 15 minutes of bubble soccer, with a break in between. This was then followed by laser tag, where we were equipped with a sensor and a reloadable weapon. I liked the laser tag slightly more than the bubble soccer but I have to say that the bubble soccer gave me a much-needed workout! If there's any advice I can give, it's definitely to do some stretches before you get into the games, and also bring a cap and some water to keep you hydrated!
Laser tag in action
Party Fun 4 All is the first business in Sydney to offer both bubble soccer and laser tag in the one event. It is also a mobile business, which means that they can host activities for you at a location that suits you. Events that they cater for are birthday parties, family fun day, community groups, team bonding and even corporate events. If you are in the social committee of your organisation and haven't locked down a Christmas party, why not hit these guys up and see what they can do? Feel free to check out the website for costs, and for a limited time only, the large soccer arena is free with any booking made in the introductory period.
In addition to private bookings, 'Drop In & Play' sessions are also available for those who want a taste of the experience. For only $15 per person for a 30-minute session, it's a great way to round up a couple of friends and do something fun together, or make new friends with other members of the community. To find out where and when the next 'Drop In & Play' session is, please visit their website and Facebook page where updates are posted regularly.
In terms of what's coming up, Party Fun 4 All will be at Westfield Chatswood this week (week commencing 3rd of October) to host the Kids Car Rides event (suitable for age 3-7 yo and only $6 per ride), so if you are in the area come and say hello!
Ever quarter, there will also be competitions where prizes are up for grabs. The prize in Spring is a mini electrical kid's car, so if you have someone in mind who would love an early Christmas present, simply book an event with PF4A and you will automatically be in the draw!
After meeting the family that built this humble business, I sincerely hope to see PF4A flourish because I saw how passionate Hue and her husband were towards making the experience a fun and memorable one for everyone. There's something admirable about a small family building a venture which aims to bring people together and ensuring they have a great time. Feel free to read more about why they do what they do here.
What a fun activity, rujihw - you're quite right, laptops and all modern technology seem to rule our lives and we need to make a plan to get out into the great outdoors and have some fun! I think this will prove to be a very popular activity, bubble soccer.
