I doubt that there is a nicer place to enjoy a meal in Perth than a sunny day in Claisebrook Cove. The surroundings are stunning, and you can imagine being somewhere in Europe, if that takes your fancy. For me, I just love the fact that we have somewhere this beautiful in Perth.
The Partisan is in perhaps the perfect position in Claisebrook Cove. You can enjoy views of the water as well as the stunning architecture, the bridge, and the gardens. It really is a kaleidoscope for the senses here.
My friend and I were looking for somewhere nice to debrief after a quite hectic meeting, and we chanced upon the The Partisan - mainly because it looked so very inviting. It's a very friendly looking restaurant, both inside and out. Yes, you can enjoy The Partisan in comfort in the main restaurant or on some colourful chairs under the shade of some beautiful trees and umbrellas outside. If the weather is nice, I can thoroughly recommend that you take this option.
The menu is extensive and very appealing. We were there for lunch, and breakfast/brunch was still available. The full range of options was available, including granola, smoothie bowls, some special breakfast treats such as toasted banana bread and crumpets, the 'usual suspects' of eggs on toast and a Continental Breakfast, brunch options, toasted croques and bagels, and an impressive vegetarian range.
I couldn't resist the 'Pork and Fennel Sausage Pattie on a Sesame Bagel'. This was ideally complemented with a fried egg, Swiss cheese, roast onions, BBQ sauce, and a very nice touch of corn on the cob. This was as delicious as it sounds. The tastes and textures were wonderful, and the egg and melted Swiss cheese was the perfect accompaniment.
My friend was drawn to the Portuguese Sardines with a tomato and cherry sauce. This was accompanied with currants and served on grilled sourdough. To say that she was suitably impressed would be an understatement. I think the fact that two people sit in silence simply enjoying great food must be one of the greatest compliments that one can pay a chef, and the two of us were very complimentary indeed. As you can probably relate to, we just had to share each other's dishes, and I'm so glad that I had the opportunity to try the sardines. I think you'll be on a winner with whatever you choose here, so be a little daring if you see something on the menu that you might not ordinarily choose. I think you will be paid back many times over.
I think The Partisan is ideal for almost any occasion. Breakfast and brunch is certainly a delight, and while I haven't tried their dinner menu, I've enjoyed the colour and romance of Claisebrook Cove at night, and I think this would be the ideal venue to take in this wonderful place. With Perth's weather pretty perfect whatever the time of the year, this is somewhere you can enjoy the surroundings and be almost guaranteed of a memorable occasion.
