Parramatta's council promotes Parramatta as the second biggest CBD in Sydney's metropolitan.

It is home to the 4th largest shopping centre in NSW, 9th in Australia, and the state government continues to fund the development of its business CBD, to include more infrastructure, businesses and services.

Parramatta is also historically the second oldest colonisation in Australia, hence it offers many historic as well as modern attractions for the whole family.

For example, within Parramatta park (by the banks of the Parramatta river) is Australia's oldest Government House, build by convicts and a past home to Australia's 10 first Governors. It is now a museum, restaurant and function centre, open to the public.
And within the grounds of the well known historic St John's church, located in the heart of Parramatta, are the oldest European gravesites in the whole of Australia.

Parramatta also offers many modern attractions, such as the Parramatta Stadium (currently under renovation), Parramatta Leagues and RSL Clubs, as well as the countless shops, cafes and restaurants scattered throughout its CBD.

To make visiting Parramatta convenient and comfortable for commuters, Parramatta council offers a free shuttle bus service, the Transdev bus 900.

Run by Transport NSW, this free bus service runs along a loop that includes frequent stops, strategically placed nearby Parramatta's well-known landmarks, such as Parramatta RSL club, Parramatta park, Parramatta swimming centre, Parramatta stadium, Parramatta Ferry Wharf and Parramatta public school.

It's a hassle-free way to explore Parramatta's main attractions, hopping on and off at your convenience, with an approximate waiting time of 10 minutes, at any clearly marked Free Shuttle, green bus stop.

Whether you are interested in Parramatta's diverse retail outlets, her historic architectural heritage or her modern recreational facilities, Transdev bus 900 is a reliable way to get familiar with Sydney's next big CBD, taking approximately 25 minutes to complete a circuit.
