I am a writer doing my best to look at Sydney every day with tourist eyes.
Published April 22nd 2012
There is rarely much I enjoy about travelling to and from the city, as I regularly find myself in a frustrating crawl with many other frustrated drivers crammed on Parramatta Road trying to reach the M4.

But last weekend the gorgeous yellows and oranges that filled the sky in the evening were hard to ignore as I travelled down the road through Glebe. By the time I had approached the motorway they had turned to beautiful purples and pinks.

As I had just returned from a trip across South Australia and Victoria, it made me think about how naturally we seek the beauty in places we visit but how quick we are to focus on the negatives of the areas we live in.

If you are willing to look at Sydney with tourist eyes, you will find beauty and wonder all around you every day.
