It is open every day of the year and they have picnic and BBQ facilities. It is very child-friendly with suitable playgrounds.
The entry fee is free and parking within the reserve is also free but it fills up quickly with families during good sunny weekend. The special feature of Lake Parramatta Reserve is the Aboriginal (Arrunga Bardo) Bush Food Garden.
You will enjoy a great day out and you don't have to spend any money. The best in life are really free! For those who would like to go for a bush walk after a well-fed meal, there are 3 well-signed walking tracks; each with varying length and difficulty.
We opted for the easiest walking track -the 1550m She Oak Track which wasn't a hard walk. It was actually quite peaceful and reflective. The track took us along the lake edge and looped back to the carpark via Bitumen Road.
We wandered off the track occasionally for photo opportunities or just sat on the rock immersing ourselves in the natural calamity.
