Back for its second year, the award-winning City of Parramatta 's Parramatta Nights is about to transform the Parramatta CBD into a live performance hub with an incredible number of free performances and activities. Soak up the atmosphere and enjoy an eclectic lineup of outdoor performances as the six-week outdoor autumn event program kicks off on 17 March with Jazz After Dark at Parramatta Square, followed by Parramatta Nights Street Festival on 18 March at Phillip street and surrounds. Download the map so you can find your way around this amazing event.

From New Orleans-style street party to a mix of international-inspired sounds, to Persian chamber jazz, the jazz lineup is ready to captivate audiences as it runs over eight nights. Attendees can indulge in food and drinks from popular eateries around the Square while soaking in a world of global music culture.

The Street Festival which runs from 18-27 March is a new addition to this year's program. It's a multi-venue event with five stages across the CBD offering a variety of electronica, hip-hop, soul, funk and punk music performances, along with collaborations by organisations, record labels, radio presenters and more. Held over two huge weekends, you're invited to experience and celebrate the diverse culture and talent Western Sydney has to offer.

Weekend one of the Parramatta Nights Street Festival highlights include: music from Jamaican dancehall DJ and singer Sister Nancy, African-Australian guitarist and rapper Blessed, and Triple J Unearthed winner A.GIRL; family-friendly performances by Soul of Sydney DJs, accompanied by MCs, break dancers and kids dance workshops; roving magic by Jackson Aces; a Holi community celebration; and street science with Children's Discovery.

Weekend two highlights include: two nights of hip-hop on a carpark rooftop by The Area Movement featuring Day1, Huskii, Rops, along with Harvey Sutherland; Australian punk rockers Pist Idiots, an all-female and non-binary line-up of music led by Jesswar and Kymie. There will also be Canned Fruit LGBTQIA night; a Sunday session with Emma Donovan and The Putbacks, and Ausecuma Beats; a giant octopus installation, Octopoda; Off the Radar DJs presented by FBI Radio; and a Kids Disco featuring DJ Levins.

Other entertainment and fun things abound with pop-up bars, food stalls, art installations and roving performers throughout the precinct. Amazing that all events are free and no ticket or registration is required.

From a picnic under the stars with a symphonic soundtrack to an evening of bangers performed by rock royalty, gather your loved ones for an epic outdoor entertainment with Sydney Symphony Under the Stars (26 March) and Rock in the Park (27 March) events. You'll swoon to the sounds of classical masterpieces, or rock out to some of Australia's biggest music legends, with the backdrop of the beautiful Parramatta Park. There's nothing like live performances to move the body and soul. Bring a picnic blanket and enjoy an evening under the stars. The Symphony will be hosted by ABC Sydney Mornings presenter Cassie McCullagh and the evening will build to a thunderous conclusion with a dazzling display of fireworks.

Find Aussie rock royalty at Rock in the Park as it boasts a staggering selection of rock legends like performances by solo artist and lead singer of the Platinum-selling Sydney rock band Noiseworks Jon Stevens and the star-studded Australian Rock Collective (A.R.C.), which comprises music icons Darren Middleton from Powderfinger, Mark Wilson from Jet, Kram from Spiderbait, and Davey Lane from You Am I. Also lighting up the stage are multi-ARIA-Award-winning hard rock band Baby Animals and alternative rockers Kingswood. There'll be a great selection of food and drinks on offer with yet another spectacular end of night fireworks display.

Make sure your exploration takes you to the Erby Place Block Party over the two weekends. It features a bar by Archie Rose and delicious eats from Raza Central Truck. Check out the lineup via the given link from Fri to Sun 18 to 20 March on weekend one, and Fri 25 to Sun 27 March for weekend two. Don't miss out on Sister Nanzy (Jamaica) and Legal Shot Sound (France). It's always great to experience what our internationals bring to the party.

Ngana Birrung makes an entrance on Sun 3 April, also at the Erby Place stage, so show up for the Parramatta Nights First Nations hip hop festival, Ngana Birrung, (pronounced Nin-Gahna Bir-Rung, Dharug for Black Stars). This one-night only event features a stellar line-up with some of the best talent in the country, including Briggs, JK-47, Miiesha and more.

There's so much to check out in the program , including Skate and Play where you can let the good times roll for the whole family at Prince Alfred Square. Strap on some skates and glide along the roller-rink to some of your favourite tunes or get an adrenaline rush with the amusement rides on offer. For those wanting more chilled vibes, immerse yourself in the larger-than-life interactive inflatable installation, Lost Dogs' Disco, or recharge your batteries with some live music and delicious offerings in the food village.
