Event:
All the elements of a fun night out

There's a lot happening in Parramatta this Chinese New Year to celebrate the Year of the Monkey. An amazing array of entertainment and performances will take place in Centenary Square along with interactive games and workshops.

Kicking off from 4.30pm is a Happy Waist Drum Show, followed by a Chinese children's dance, a Vietnamese showcase, Maple Leaf Arts Group fashion, Korean Dance and drumming plus a whole lot more from various dancing groups.

Fan Dance

Dauntless Movement Crew will be bringing their brand of parkour to the stage in a fast-paced show involving acrobatics, and singing for us are 2014 X Factor winner Marlisa, the Australian Yellow River Chorus and Sydney band AiAiAi.

In Lunar Land you can play table tennis, mah-jong, Barrel of Monkeys, giant chess and giant Connect 4 as well as participate in Chinese calligraphy workshops and lantern making workshops. Have your decorated lantern added to the lantern garden for all to admire. Catch Curious George Monkey and make a monkey mask as well.

For food, there's plenty of choice. Feast on dumplings, Asian cuisine from food trucks Tsuru and Mama Linh's, and delicious dessert treats from Luxbite. Take it up a notch at Novotel's 350 Restaurant and Lounge pop-up bar where you can sample Asian-inspired cocktails.

The God of Fortune will be handing out lucky red envelopes and don't miss the kung fu demonstration, fan dance, dragon and lion dance, roaming performances by The Replicants, and the fireworks finale at 9.30pm.

The full program along with parking and transport can be found by visiting on the website.

This is one Friday night with a difference.
