Enjoy a day of market stalls, music, tours, workshops & more

The local community is invited to come together and celebrate Parramatta's 230th Birthday on Sunday 4th November 11am to 5pm!

Parramatta Foundation Day is a FREE family day out held in the beautiful historic surrounds of the Heritage Precinct, Fleet Street, North Parramatta, under the blooming jacaranda trees.

Grab a picnic blanket and bring the family along for a jam-packed day of interactive and engaging activities, live music, bustling food stalls, historic tours and workshops, boutique market stalls and so much more!

Parramatta Foundation Day is an annual celebration of Parramatta's foundation which occurred on 2 November 1788, at the Crescent, in what is now Parramatta Park.

Families can look forward to a diverse range of FREE activities and events during the afternoon.

Highlights include:

FAMILY ACTIVITIES - Have fun in the horse and cart rides or challenge the kids to colonial-era games and lawn games. You can also try your hand at hands-on art and crafts, weaving, pottery, peg-doll making and music-making. Or opt for storytelling and find out about colonial bricklaying, shingle roofing, indigenous toolmaking and weaving.

LIVE MUSIC - Enjoy live music on stage all day including Andy Golledge band (alt-country), The Vegetable Plot (music for children) and the Parravision talent contest auditions.

MARKET STALLS - Selected handmade natural products to buy including beeswax candles, body-care products, jams, honey, jewellery and ceramics.

HISTORY, SKILLS, STORIES AND DISPLAYS - There are heaps of interactive activities to enjoy - choose from Parramatta Men's Shed Open Day, an audio tour of the Female Factory grounds, the Citroen classic cars display, Lancer's Museum military vehicles, stonemasonry, pickling, beekeepers' display, solar telescope viewing, natural dye and embroidery workshops.

GREAT FOOD - Relax and unwind with a great selection of food including Gatehouse Tea Rooms' Devonshire Tea, Waroo Lamb, Bar Coco's Gelato and coffee, Koshari Korner's Egyptian vegetarian street food and more.
