An Artist, A musician, a fascinating life
Boroondara's Percy Grainger was a megastar of the European, North American and Australian stages in the early 1900s, attracting sell-out audiences for his piano recitals. Grainger at Home is an exciting new work exploring the private and creative life of this acclaimed composer, lyricist and performer, through the voice of his wife and companion, Ella. Ella shares stories of their life together and touches on more than a few simmering issues in the Grainger saga.

The music presented in this semi-staged recital includes songs and piano solos written by Percy Grainger and his friends, as well as the rarely heard Five Settings of Ella Grainger.

Join acclaimed local opera ensemble The Parlour as they present this new work written by Lucy Esdaile and Karen Van Spall.

Featuring: David Lempriere-Laughton (piano), Hannah Vanderheide (as Ella Grainger), Karen Van Spall (Mezzo Soprano), Adam Miller (Baritone).
