Queenslanders and visitors are invited to join in the FREE, fun festivities at Parliament House's 150th Anniversary Open Day on Saturday, 11 August 2018.
Come along with the whole family and help celebrate this great milestone. There will be heaps to do, see and enjoy from 10am to 3pm, including self-guided tours and a fabulous entertainment line-up on the Speaker's Green.
Parliament House has been the centre of Queensland's parliamentary democracy since August 1868 and is among the state's most beautiful and culturally significant buildings.
On the Open Day, you can take a self-guided tour of Parliament House and explore a number of areas which are not usually accessible to the public.
After enjoying a tour, join in the historical-themed events. Plus there will be fun for all ages including dancing, school bands and choirs.
There will also be refreshments and souvenirs available for purchase.
It is also worth noting that the 150th Anniversary celebrations will continue throughout the month of August including an 'Old Meets New' Degustation Commemorative Dinner on August 10, two Open Day High Teas on August 11 and "Parliament House: Celebrating 150 Years" Historical Seminar on August 25 2018.
