Food, drinks, and laid back tunes are all on the line up at Parkside Sundays, a free event at Newstead Park. From 12pm – 6pm, the riverside grounds play host to a chilled-out Sunday arvo sesh, with something to suit everyone.
Set against the sprawling hills of the parklands, this event is perfect for families, friends, couples or singles. Visitors can enjoy an uninterrupted view of the Brisbane River while listening to jazzy tunes, DJ beats, and drum rhythms. A fleet of food trucks will be on hand to provide delicious morsels like wood-fired pizza, loaded fries, pulled pork burgers, and ice cream, and with Parkside partnering with Pimms and Green Beacon, you can be sure the drinks will be cool and refreshing.
If money is tight you can, of course, bring your own food; for inspiration and advice, check out our recipe section. And while Parkside provides the beats, beers and burgers, you will need to provide your own seating and sunscreen.
If ant bites and grass stains aren't your thing, Parkside Sundays offer a range of VIP experiences, from a pop-up picnic for $350 plus GST to a VIP lounge area with tapas and drinks package for $3700 plus GST. Bookings are required and can be made through the website.
This is a child-friendly and pet-friendly event, so the whole family is welcome.
