Parkour has become popular in recent years through entertainment events bringing to the forefront this urban activity involving the negotiation of obstacles by running, jumping, flipping and climbing from point to point in a rapid and efficient manner.

Parkour x Awesome = Parksoursome and now your adventurous child can unleash their spirit with free classes in this sport that originated with the French. Your daredevils will transform into real-life superheroes with the agility of a ninja as they navigate this art of movement using their bodies as tools.

It’s all about creative exploration, building strength, boosting confidence and having a blast while doing it. Skilled instructors ensure safety whilst teaching the foundations, promoting problem-solving and quick thinking.

Nurturing teamwork and determination as children conquer challenges together, the workshop is designed for fun and is perfect for 8-15 year olds trying parkour for the first time. Enthusiasm and a willingness to explore will make this an all-up exhilarating and unforgettable experience.

Workshops take place at the Pier Street Underpass, an open paved area in Haymarket, adjacent to the Pumphouse Restaurant and Bar, Steam Mill Lane and the Darling Square development.

Beginning 9.30am and concluding 11.30am, the schedule thus far is, as follows -

Sun 3 March
Sun 7 April

A parkour performance will take place at 10am before coaching begins at 10.10am. At 11am there’s open play and Q&A with parkour athletes. Please arrive on time, else spots will be forfeited to walk-ins.

Registrations for the first date will open on Mon 22 January. Be sure to jump in quick as there is a maximum of 30 children per class.

Parents can watch the workshop on the sidelines, provide support with cheers and positive reinforcement, and see the faces of their children light up with each ‘I did it!’ moment.
