The biggest market place in the Southern Hemisphere
If you like going to the markets, then Parklea Markets is one that you should not miss on the weekends. Just 30 minutes drive from Sydney, it is one of the popular tourist attraction in Sydney's West. This five-acre market claimed to be the biggest and most vibrant market in the Southern Hemisphere.
With hundreds of stalls to shop around, you will be spoiled with options. Starting from entry no.1 (main entrance) is the fresh food market.
Fresh Food Market
There are fruits and vegetable stalls, butcher, deli, seafood, bakery and even a juice bar. It's a great place for weekend grocery shopping especially for fresh produce. The prices are very competitive given the variety of options available.
Birds @ Pets and Accessories section
At entry no.2, you will find the pets and accessories section where birds and cute puppies are on sale including cages as well as kennels.
There are several entry points to the building and in between entries are individual stalls selling clothes, gadgets, kitchenware, footwear, car accessories, Australian souvenirs and anything you can name.
Towards entry no.5 is the Angel's Gifts and Garden section where beautiful pots and decorative items for garden are found including Balinese Display Center. I was particularly attracted to the miniature sculptures such as laughing Buddha, pagoda, and various animals.
Parklea Pots and Plants
For those with a green thumb, Parklea Pots and Plants is heaven. You can find all kinds of indoor and patio plants, flowers, herbs, seedling, decor, pots, and soil all in one place. It also offers delivery options for pots and plants. This is the only section of the market which is open for business 7 days a week from 9am - 5pm Mon - Fri, and 8.30am - 4.30pm Sat - Sun.
Rugs clearance sale
At the moment, rugs clearance sale is held at the center stage every weekend with latest designs of Persian handmade, modern and traditional rugs on sale up to 70% discount.
Huge toys sale is also ongoing at the market.
Some basic furniture is also available although I wouldn't say they are of best quality but still decent enough for the price.
If you are hungry after all the walking and shopping, why not treat yourself to some delicious 'street food'? Options are plenty with food vans selling Vietnamese street food, kebabs, burgers, Thai food, Dutch pancakes, ice cream and many more.

I had family go to ParkleaMarkets August 24, and was told it was so dilapidated it was disgusting. This was also stated to me from the locals who live nearby (also family) dirty, unclean and rubbish - a waste of time.
I myself have been there twice. I enjoyed it so much so that ı want to go there whenever it is convenient to my wife and me. The price are just right almost half price compared to other super or hipermarkets.
