Parkers Cafe is the Place To Be
Nestled around Parkdale Train Station is a cosy little shopping strip that is very popular with locals. Away from the hustle and bustle of nearby Mordialloc and Mentone, this is a lovely location with lots of character. One of the standout spots is Parkers Cafe, on Parkers Road.

Parkers Cafe has been popular with loyal locals, and visitors alike, since opening in 2006. It has a Modern Australian menu, and is an excellent venue for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or a drink.

There is plenty of outdoor dining on Parkers Road, which is lovely in the summer, but also has blinds and large heaters to keep warm on cooler days. There is also lots of indoor seating, where you can see the busy baristas and chefs at work. Conveniently, there is a window on the street to order take-away drinks. They have thought of everything, and even have a dogs water bowl here if you are waiting outside with your pooch.

The food is of a very high standard with generous serving sizes. The menu has some cheeky names on their all-day breakfast menu, such as 'The Don Bourke' (a vegetarian omelette with Turkish bread), 'Starvin' Marvin' (a big breakfast), and 'Mr Beans' (housemade baked beans with a range of extras available).

The lunch menu features a variety of smaller sharing plates, toasted gourmet sandwiches, and larger main meals. During winter, Parkers is open til 4pm daily, but is open late for dinner on Fridays during the warmer months.

They also regularly have special themed nights with live music and menu specials. Follow them on Facebook to keep in the loop for these events.

Parkers Cafe is licensed, and has a small range of wine, beer and cider available. The coffee at Parkers is also sensational, and I have never been disappointed. They use single-origin, Fair Trade Sumatra Mountain coffee. There is also a large range of milk drinks, fresh and bottled juices and fresh mocktails, including a 'Virgin Mary', if you are feeling a bit seedy!

Parkers is conveniently located within walking distance of Parkdale Train Station, Parkdale Library, Shirley Burke Theatre and Parkdale Beach. There is ample street parking available.

Visit the Parkers Cafe website or Facebook page for menu details and upcoming events.

Parkdale itself is thriving and getting a lot busier, with several new cafes opening recently. However, I keep coming back to Parkers because of the excellent customer service and quality food and drinks available. During busy times, you may have to wait for a table, however the staff are always very efficient and accommodating. It's best to make a booking if you have a large group or in a rush. Experience it for yourself soon!
