So Much To Do
Park Reserves in Sunnybank

On the corner of Beenleigh Rd and Woff St Sunnybank you will find Les Atkinson Park. Encompassed within this huge park is a series of areas such as Effie Johnson Park and the Pengana Playground. Named after long time resident, Effie Johnson who was involved the preservation of landmarks and recording the history of the Sunnybank area.

The park was named for a local woman.

This sign explains why the park is so named.

Surrounded by thick greenery, this is lovely park with a really interesting Playground. As well as the usual climbing apparatus and swings, it has a train on a track which rings the playground and looks like enormous fun.

How cool is this train?

Shaded Barbecue area plus toilets

The park has a shaded picnic table with barbecue and toilets nearby.

A wooden bridge over a wetlands creek leads into next section of parkland.

Skate Park

This little section is very picturesque and would be a great spot for photographs or perhaps some bird watching. You could probably even explore the creek itself.

A photogenic area under the bridge.

After the bridge there is a stretch of open grass and what I assume is a skate bowl.

But wait... there's more.

Bikeway

The next section is the beginning ( or end) of the Les Atkinson Bikeway which wanders through to the main section of the Les Bikeway network.
