In August 2021, you are invited to join National Parks and Wildlife Service for a variety of activities across the amazing conservation parks within Barossa Valley. There's everything from health and wellbeing to hobbies and walks.



Bowden's Cottage will be open on Sunday the 15th as well as each Tuesday throughout the month. For a small donation, you get to delve into the history of the Barossa Goldfields. More about the cottage can be found here .

For those interested in bird watching , expert naturalist Phil Barron will explore the birdlife of Sandy Creek Conservation Park on Saturday the 21st. Some of the bird species that depend on the park include the diamond firetail, rufous whistler and shy heathwren. On the other hand, if you're interested in photography , you can join local photographer Darren Williams at Para Wirra Conservation Park to capture some spectacular landscape views. Walking SA will also be running a hiking session at Hale Conservation Park on Sunday the 22nd. Further information about this here .

On Saturday the 28th, immerse yourself in the Japanese practice of forest bathing with Escapegoat Adventures at Para Wirra Conservation Park. You will be led by a trained and certified guide to relax and connect with nature. This is truly your chance to slow down amidst the busy world we live in.



A couple of ranger-guided walks will also be held throughout the month including an accessibility walk and a night walk around Para Wirra Conservation Park's lake . These events are usually very popular, so be quick to book if you're interested in coming along. The full program is available on their website .
