The bike path along Enoggera Creek at Red Hill has installed painted placards carrying messages to publicise and promote the importance of creating a creating safe and nurturing environments for all Australian children.



The painted placards have been attached to the trees along the bike path beside the waterways in Fulcher Road, which can be seen by walkers, riders and the local community as they enjoy their time outdoors. The boards have been created in a child friendly way with youthful handwriting and bright backgrounds to bring to light the child safety issue.



Some of the messages on the boards, which appear simple are very powerful and include:

**Put Children First.
If You See Something, Say Something.
My Voice is an Echo of Yours.**





The signage project coincides with Child Protection Week, which was held from 6-12 September 2020, to support Queensland children and young people being cared for to be protected, safe and able to reach their full potential. While this is an important community event to highlight this issue, the messages are significant at all times throughout the year, including during the challenges of a global pandemic which is placing health and economic pressures of many.



The Department of Child Safety, Youth and Women reported that 33 572 enquires were received by families and child connect for the year-end 31 March 2020. For support, you can phone Triple Zero (000)

To see the boards, head to Fulcher Road, Red Hill and jump onto the bikeways below the bridge crossing. Every day is the right day for keeping kids safe.
