Sweet, Savoury, All Divine Gluten Free Crepes
Ooh la la, just the sound of a French creperie gets you feeling oh so Parisian.
Pardon My French Creperie has been an original South Melbourne Market crepe store and is now moving and opening to a permanent shop on Chapel Street in South Yarra.

What the market-goers of South Melbourne have known for some time, is now going to become a familiar eating place in Chapel Street. Their French style crepes are highly sought after as a delicacy, with the owner announcing that he has had customers happily waiting up to 40 minutes for a crepe at South Melbourne Market. Hopefully with the move to Chapel Street, this wait will be a thing of the past.
All of the crepes are hand made using special cast iron grills that were created in France and require no added oil to cook with. The owner, John Milic explained that the desire is to create a crepe the tasted wonderful on its own, without the addition of oil and was not too heavy, which could allow it to be either a sweet or savoury combination.
Some of their amazing creations include, the Lamington with chocolate fudge sauce, strawberry jam and desiccated coconut. If you prefer something savoury you might like to try the Chicken Special, with chicken, spinach, passata, basil pesto and tasty cheese.
If you really cannot find anything on the menu that tickles your fancy you just have to ask, as they will be happy to make up any special orders that they can accommodate.
For the coeliacs amongst us, good news, as the crepe batter is gluten free! Over 20 different recipes were tried for the Gluten Free batter until they finally settled on getting it just right - they say that their customers cannot believe there's no gluten because it tastes so good.
