As you walk from the carpark to Parap pool, you can see a striking piece of public art called 'Under the Surface' by artist Jill Chism. This sculpture is made with a perforated aluminium facade depicting swimmers diving into water.
Under the Surface
Parap pool provides a variety of water spaces and dry activity spaces for regional/state/national swimming competitions, school groups, general fitness, water polo, recreation and casual use, health, wellness, family and leisure.
Zero depth wet play area
The Parap pool temperature is kept at 27C, which will be appreciated by Territorians during the cool dry season.
Parap pool has 10 lanes of 50 metre pool with 1.4 metre depth on one side and 2 metre depth on the other side.
Parap pool and its history
The 6 lanes of the fully-covered 25 metre pool (1.2m to 1.35m depth) is perfect for learning to swim, aqua aerobics, rehabilitation exercises and just lolling around in the water.
Both pools have ramp access and an aquatic wheelchair to making it easily accessible for all ability levels.
There is a cafe/kiosk with plenty of tables and chairs, shaded zero depth wet play area, all-access and family change rooms, toilets, picnic tables, lockers, club room and a filtration room. Parap pool has ample of parking spots and also bike racks.
