Do you fancy being a ghost hunter for an evening? Are you interested in paranormal phenomenon and tales of spirits from the other side? Or perhaps you just like being spooked?
Whether you are a believer in ghosts or a sceptic, it doesn't matter, all are welcome to join the on 27th July 2016.
For the uninitiated a paranormal investigator is defined as someone who investigates phenomenon outside the range of normal experience or scientific explanation such as the presence of ghosts and spirits.
The evening will begin with a night tour of the Casula Powerhouse and surrounding grounds. This location is known to have a long history of tragic deaths and as a consequence there are numerous tales of spooky visitors hanging around.
In the first half of the twentieth century the area was known as Casula Pleasure Grounds and was used for family picnics. At this time the river was used as a swimming hole and for children learning to swim. Tragically there were a number of drownings over the years which have been verified in the newspapers of the time. One of the ghosts of Casula is thought to be
Alma Davis , a young girl who drowned in the river in 1902.
Other horrific deaths were caused by people being killed on the nearby railway line which opened way back in 1894. One such case was
Gladys Stockton who was only 14 years old when she was tragically killed while crossing the railway line in 1923.
More frightening still is the story of the spirit who is said to hang out in the theatre of the Casula Powerhouse. He is described as having a distinctive appearance that is thought to be the result of horrific facial burns. As you tour the grounds in the dark you will hear all of these tragic, yet intriguing, stories and more.
After the tour there will be a workshop covering the basics of paranormal investigation and you will be able to take part in detailed experiments with the intention of capturing evidence of any paranormal activity. The ghost hunting equipment used will include a Ghost Box, EVP recording, GhostMeter Pro, Infrared Video Cameras, REM pods and EMF meters.
The Paranormal Investigator Sleepover is suitable for people aged 14 years and over. You are required to bring a sleeping bag, mat and pillow and snacks to eat through the night. Tea and coffee will be available all night and a light supper and breakfast will be provided.
The sleepover will be conducted by APPI Ghost Hunts and Tours. For more information
