Wendy Paramor was one of Australia's most celebrated female artists. She was a local Liverpool resident, who sadly passed away in 1975 at the young age of 37 years. Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre has produced its inaugural Art prize- the Paramor Prize: Paramor Prize: Art + Innovation 2015-in her honour. The Paramor Prize: Art Innovation shall be an annual acquisitive prize of $20,000.
A $5,000 Mayoral Award will be issued to the artwork that represents the guiding ethos of Liverpool City Council and a $1,000 People's Choice Award will be issued to the artwork voted most popular. Submitted artworks must fit the criteria of addressing ideas regarding innovation and encouraging new ways of seeing, experiencing and interpreting the future. A panel shall select the winners and a curated selection of works will be exhibited at Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre from 30 January to 23 March 2015.
What a gift it would be for an emerging artist to be selected!
