A Taste Of Excellence - Paramoor Winery
In a past life Paramoor Farm was home to Clydesdale working horses and their former barn complete with smithy's forge, tack-room and stalls now houses the cellar door for Will & Kath Fraser's hugely successful Paramoor Winery. With a swag of awards for its range of Riesling, Pino Gris, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Shiraz & Merlot and with the plaudits of wine judges and commentators ringing in their ears Paramoor Farm is a 'must visit' attraction for anyone who appreciates a great drop.
Paramoor Winery is located at Carlsruhe, near Woodend in the Macedon Ranges
Today Maggie is the only Clydesdale you'll find on the property but the large tasting room boasts a mind boggling array of horse-drawn implements & accoutrements, the blacksmiths forge and countless other rural curiosities. To sit and sample award winning wines surrounded by this collection of memorabilia is an experience in itself and a great talking point.
MAGGIE, Paramoor's last remaining Clydesdale
In the 8 years since its establishment in 2005 Paramoor has come a long, long way recently achieving 5 Star status in the prestigious James Halliday's 2013 Wine Companion. In it Halliday cites Paramoor as "an excellent producer of very high quality wines" and judges several to be among the best in Australia.

Other milestone awards include numerous gold medals and 'best in class' trophies at wine shows right around the nation. Not bad for a winery with a relatively modest output of around 1500 cases per annum.
Producing hand-made wines with great care Paramoor Winery is a standout in a region known for its excellence in viticulture.
Will Fraser is always on hand to discuss his wines with visitors
Will Fraser's philosophy has always been to favour quality over quantity and with this in mind he hand selects grapes from both his own vines and a wide selection of growers throughout Central Victoria to produce a range of great wines at reasonable prices.
He also cooks a mean pizza and a range of wood-fired pizzas are available at the cellar door on the first two Saturdays and Sundays of each month plus public holidays and weekends.
A tipple or two in the unique tasting room is a great experience and fabulous talking point
Paramoor Winery is set in the heart of the Macedon Ranges, an easy 1 ¼ hour drive from Melbourne via the Calder Freeway.
