Love going to the cinema but hate the uncomfortable seats? Try Paradiso cinema for a touch of comfort.

After calling up to reserve your tickets for the movie (this is advised to avoid disappointment), you enter the cinema at 72 Brownston St, Wanaka, New Zealand. They will cross your name off the list and present you with your tickets, allowing you time to order food and drinks or to look at the wall of movie posters.

When you enter the cinema, you have a choice of seats; a sofa, a car, an armchair. My favourite is a seat on the sofa. Then, the lights dim and the film begins. About half way through the film, the screen goes black, at which point someone opens the doors to the cinema and announces that there will be a short intermission in which you are able to purchase freshly baked (and still warm) cookies, homemade ice-cream, beer, wine, soft drinks, burgers and much more! And don't worry, if you don't finish within the 20 minute interval, you can take it back in with you. Once they are sure everyone is seated again, the movie resumes.

It's definitely a date with a difference or a fun night out with friends where you can combine eating, drinking, the movies and a chat.
