This Fringe season, from now until March 18th, Adelaide's iconic cultural boulevard of North Terrace has transformed into a night market and street party. The strip is surrounded by stunning architectural projections and breathtaking laser displays from illuminart, Electric Canvas and Dan Acher.

Borealis by Dan Acher is a breathtaking light display in which an ever changing laser light phenomenon inspired by the northern lights is projected into the air above the South Australian Museum entrance. Lumifonica by illuminartĀ asks brave participants to step inside the tent and control the sound and light show splayed over the beautiful facade of Elder Hall. The Infinity Box is a walk through infinity mirror connecting the projection spaces. Modern indigenous art, historical stories and whimsical explorations are beautiful to watch as they unfold on the canvas of some of the oldest buildings in town. Even some of the buildings on the southern side of North Terrace have engaging light displays on their facades.

The night markets feature food trucks and stalls of all kinds of food, a licensed area for the adults, heaps of arts and craft stalls and spotlight performances from buskers and DJ's.

The tram works look like they'll be finished soon but even so, during Fringe season public transport, cabbing, or ride sharing into the city is the way to go. If you have to drive then try parking along Victoria Drive first, if not then War Memorial Drive might have some free parks. Either way it's a short walk up the hill through Adelaide Uni to North Terrace. All the car parks on North Terrace will have their usual opening times but easy access may be impacted by the tram works and other street closures during the busy festival season.

The Parade of Light is part of the Adelaide Fringe Festival 2018 and is on every night from 8.30 pm until midnight, from 16th of February until the 18th of March 2018. More info is available here .
