The Parachute Band from New Zealand is coming to Brisbane this August for one night only, and you can experience their music live.
As a world-famous group of musicians, the Parachute Band have spent most of their time together living out of suitcases and travelling the globe. As well as performing in their home country of New Zealand, they have also toured America, Africa, Asia and Eastern Europe. In 2008, they won the People's Choice Award at the NZ Music Awards. They also have supported and raised money for various charities, causes and development projects in poor countries. The Parachute Band has also performed alongside other well-known bands, such as Casting Crowns and Delirious? As well as performing under the label Parachute Music, they also run training events for aspiring musicians, and regularly hold the Parachute Festival, which attracts over 25, 000 people.
They will be performing in Brisbane this August for one night only, and tickets can be purchased by clicking here. This concert is being held to promote their new album, and tickets are a low $16.50 per person. The tour is sponsored by World Vision Australia and 96.5 Family Radio, as well as a handful of other radio stations. The Parachute Band will be accompanied this year by a Sydney band by the name of Full Hearts. This band is partner artist with Compassion, a great non-profit organisation committed to alleviating poverty in poor countries. Full Hearts are also committed to supporting people in disadvantaged situations (as are Parachute Band). This Sydney band hit number 1 on iTunes inspirational with their hit single from their latest album, also entitled Full Hearts. This local band is set to be a great accompaniment to the Parachute Band on their live one-night performance in Brisbane this month. For more information, including their local gigs and other performances, please visit the official website.
The Parachute Band is one of the few bands that offer alternative music to the mainstream, with clean and meaningful lyrics that appeal to people of all ages.
