'Paper Inspirations on Show' focuses on the humble medium of paper itself and highlights the skills and artistry of the Papermakers and Artists of Qld. This is a show for all those with a love and understanding of paper as a medium in its own right or for those who are keen to see a wide range of artistic works on paper and gain an understanding of how the magic happens.
'Paper Inspirations on Show' can be seen in the Richard Randall Art Studio, Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens, from Monday 13th -19th March. Entry is free and members will be there daily to show and talk about the works and the intricacies of their construction and presentation.
This paper show features an array of styles, structures, and techniques from whimsical mobiles to work by contemporary artists who have expanded the creative potential of paper.
You will see works on, in and with paper, including prints, handmade and hand bound books, paper collage, photography on handmade paper, encaustic work, mixed media, altered books, a wide selection of handmade papers, three-dimensional works and works that explore and manipulate the materiality of paper itself - all available in our Artisan Store.
The association members, while portraying their own distinctive work with paper, are also experienced artisan in other skill areas, creating exceptional quality, handmade and hand fashioned work in paper and copper jewellery, basketry, eco dying and fibre artworks that are guaranteed to have the 'wow' factor! The best place to select your individually designed art piece for any gift-giving occasion.
