Buy Tech Cheap - in Bangkok
If you're only in town for a week to sample Bangkok and want to stock up on anything (absolutely anything) tech, from Dr Beats headphones to Apple computers, Pantip Plaza is the motherload. I went to buy a new USB cable for camera (80c AUD) and get a computer repair (not for Asus customers, but they told me where to go).
[ADVERT]There is so much to see and buy in this technological paradise, it can be overwhelming. But if you have the head for it and know what you want, then head here via Bangkok's BTS Skytrain to Central (Siam) Station. Walk between two massive shopping centres, and take a right. Walk over the river, then turn left at the lights and keep going til you get to it (if asking for directions, have a map because as soon as a Thai person hears "Plaza" they might just send you to the closest Plaza, and there are heaps of them here). It's the third plaza over - as I said, there are a lot in this area.
This area is also good shopping for big ticket items such as Gucci, where the prices are cheaper than Australia.
