This is where Kondanapanny ("Panny") Letchumanan and his family make over 190 varieties of handmade chocolate, their signature being a delicious milk chocolate truffle.
The kids were amazed to see row upon row of delicately arranged chocolate shoes, houses, elephants, figurines. We finished the trip just next door, with a ride on the Ginger Factory's Overboard Boat, trying to spot the runaway Gingerbread man.
Not worth it - we visited the Ginger Factory recently but did not notice that there was a very small chocolate factory there until I happened to see the sign on our way out. It was 3.30pm but the person in the chocolate factory was cleaning up and finished for the day. There were two ladies in the shop section who ignored us until I spoke to them and only gave us a chocolate sample to taste after I asked!
For those intending to visit Panny's it has relocated back to Philip Island, Victoria.
We went to visit after reading the article and were disappointed to find they had already relocated. On the upshot, we still enjoyed the Ginger Factory for a good couple of hours and the kids had a great time!
