The Australian Strategic Policy Institute (ASPI) is a non-partisan think tank that provides expert advice on defence, cybersecurity and national security issues. They also hold a number of events for the public on these topics. One such event is a panel discussion on the future of cyber defence.
This discussion promises to explore the conundrum that humans are both part of the cybersecurity problem and solution, with a number of guests who are all specialist in the field. With technology continuing to evolve at an ever growing speed, defence is no longer confined to borders but extends to the cyber realm. The panellists will look at how this will Impact the next generation of cyber workforce along with the emerging threats that are beginning to challenge those working in the field at the moment.
The panellists will consist of former Deputy Chief of the US National Security Agency and Director of Intelligence for US Strategic Command, Mr Scott George and the Director of the Advanced Cyber Technology Centre at Northrop Grumman, Dr Dennis McCallum. An Australian perspective will be offered by Dr Lesley Seebeck, CEO of ANU's inaugural Cyber Institute.
Following the panel discussion, a drinks and canapes reception will conclude the event.
