PandaPearls is located at 99 Buckland Road, Nundah and is a secret oasis for those who adore pearls and vintage trinkets. If you are hunting anything from a beautiful pearl strand, to traditional Chinese vases, antique furniture, vintage handbags, gloves and clothes you will not be disappointed by what PandaPearls has to offer. The eclectic blend of new and old adds to the appeal of the shop, as does their resident watchdog, Millicent, who dons a pearl drop on a black ribbon around her neck. A sufficient amount of time should be set aside to spend marvelling at all that the shop has to offer – making it the perfect destination for a weekend shopping trip.
The shop's layout regularly evolves, keeping it fresh and interesting. Although it is called PandaPearls, the shop is a blend of two businesses, Travels with my Aunt and PandaPearls Australia. The merging of the two businesses under one roof creates a magical collage of both vintage accessories and beautiful pearl jewellery.
After ogling the collection of amber jewellery, trying on a few cute dresses and examining the collection of Aboriginal art, I ventured down to the lower level of the shop, to the 'button room'. As the name suggests the entire room is filled with buttons and fabric, truly a dressmaker's delight.
I left the shop with a beautiful bronze necklace and a perfect pair of pearl studs, all for a reasonable price. If you love a bargain and all things beautiful, make your way to 99 Buckland Road Nundah. It is open from Tuesday – Sunday, 10 – 4pm and currently all Travels with my Aunt pieces are 20% off.
PandaPearls also hosts a side walk sale where you can grab a sausage sizzle and view even more goodies; check the website for details.
