When someone asks you to come to ' Pancakes on the Rocks ', you would of course assume that there are two sureties – one, that there will be pancakes, and two, that there will be rocks. While the first is most certainly true, the second is perhaps not so much. 'Pancakes on the Rocks' in Campbelltown features the menu we have come to know and love but offers a location that is for some, much closer to home.

As the name suggests, Pancakes on the Rocks is famous for its pancakes. For the not so sweet-toothed there are savoury crepes and even steaks or pizzas. Apart from the well put together menu, my favourite quality about this restaurant is their willingness to adapt their items to your personal taste. All too often it seems that I visit restaurants which have a clause at the bottom of the menu 'Menu items cannot be changed or altered'. This is fine for those with a wide pallet, but for people like myself (that are slightly more pernickety than average with their food) this can prove to make ordering a nightmare.

Thankfully, at the Campbelltown Pancakes on the Rocks, the chefs are always willing to accommodate my requests – no matter how strange they seem. I'm certain that my favourite order (Bananarama pancakes without banana) has raised a few eyebrows in the kitchen.

While I have yet to have a negative dining experience here, there is one complaint I will make – parking. Although the website advises you that there is underground parking available, the underground 'visitor' parking lot located just up the road is very hard to find space it. While it is often almost empty when I visit, a majority of the parks are allocated to various businesses on the streets. If you're brave you could of course park there anyway, however, upon my most recent visit I did notice that some businesses have now put up paper signs stating that they may select to tow cars illegally parked. There is street parking available, although a majority of it is timed, for example, 2 / 3 hour parking until 6pm. Assumedly, this should be long enough for most patrons.

In saying this, I've never met a pancake I haven't liked and the meals served by Pancakes at the Rocks in Campbelltown are no an exception (although the pancakes themselves were quite exceptional!). With a large serving of pancakes being between $10 - $13, I feel Pancakes on the Rocks at Campbelltown is definitely worth a visit – even if you have to spend a few minutes locating the perfect parking spot.
