I am a retired English teacher who has retired from teaching but not from life, which I intend to live to the full. With all my hobbies, I'm busier now than ever with my art groups, small business and gardening.

The best thing about farmers' markets is the really fresh fruit and veg you can buy. Apples can be purchased without being in cold storage for 6 months. Another plus, produce is cheaper and the money goes directly to the grower.
Recently, more and more Farmers' Markets are popping up.
Palmyra's Farmer Market has been going for eight years so, a little more than just popping up. This one's in Palmyra, Melville, and situated at the
Palmyra Primary School, McKimmie Road, Palmyra. The market is open
every Sunday from 8 am 'til 12 noon, just right for your weekly shopping. On the last Sunday of the month, a mega-market is held. The next
mega-market is on 29th April. At the same time, the markets will be relaunched under new management and the new markets will be bigger and better than ever.

Haven't had breakfast? The new markets are having breakfast stalls to be enjoyed with fresh bread (love the smell of fresh bread baking) and coffee. You needn't go hungry. When satisfied, take the time to browse and enjoy a range of gourmet foods, such as homemade pickles and jams, along with fresh produce and stalls selling local craft and handmade gifts.
Palmyra Farmers' Market is free and family friendly. Activities have been organised to keep the littlies happy. Parents have also been catered for with local musicians. Listen to the sweet sounds of music pervading the air while you shop and browse. To find out more, check out their

PS: say
No to plastic, so don't forget the canvas bags to hold your produce and purchases.
