at Cavan has been on our To-do list for a long time and we finally got around to visiting it this year. This place came to our attention because of its expanse of lush, green palm trees landscapes along Port Wakefield Road.



The drive to is an exploration – we entered the address into our GPS and it brought us along roads lined by industrial buildings on both sides. For a while, we wondered if we were on the right track. Then we arrived at the entrance and the 'plantation' is sitting there like a tropical oasis. The relaxed atmosphere of the place is reflected by the answer we got when we asked about parking. We were told to "park anywhere we want".



is a garden centre specialising in palms and boasts that they have South Australia's largest range of mature acclimatised palms. Most of their displays have palms as the hero accompanied by other sun loving plants. There were quite a number of species of beautiful Hibiscus plants for sale and as part of the landscape.





Apart from mature palms, also has the largest Bird of Paradise plants we have ever seen.



To most people, palms evoke visions of the tropics and beach vacations. If you need a tropical photo setting, then head to . They have an area with fine sand and palm trees that will give the illusion that the photo is taken on a tropical beach. This setting is probably set up for wedding shoots as has a function centre for holding wedding and other functions. Unfortunately the function centre was undergoing repairs when we were there so we don't have a nice picture of it.



Besides sun loving plants, also has a shaded area that house a small collection of shade loving plants like ferns.



We thoroughly enjoyed our leisurely morning walk through this tropical garden centre and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys meandering among plants and flowers.
