Palm Beach is located in the northermost suburb of Sydney and is famous for its combination of beaches and bushlands. The easiest way to reach Palm Beach is either by car, which takes about an hour from Sydney city, or by bus from either Wynyard station , L90. By ferry, Palm beach is accessible from Ettalong in the central coast. It is also possible to take a bus from Manly beach and reach Mona Vale junction using bus no 156 and then take the connecting bus L90 to Palm beach.
Known to be one of the cleanest beaches in Sydney, Palm beach attracts tourists for water sports, including sailing and surfing. The beach itself is a 2 km long stretch of golden sand bordering the blue waters and offers many things to do.
One of the prominent landmarks in Palm Beach is the Barrenjoey lighthouse. A nice walk/trek upto the lighthouse will enable a breathtaking view of the serene ocean waters and also a view across Broken Bay.
Palm beach has a golf course too that is open to public. There are many cafes and restaurants around offering all kinds of cuisine and beautiful views of the coastline.
The local area is inhabited by the rich and famous and this also serves as a setting for the famous Australian television series 'Home and Away'.
Palm Beach and Hawkesbury River Cruises runs a daily scenic cruise at 11 AM from Palm Beach Wharf and it crosses Pittwater and Broken Bay. With adequate planning this can be a part of the agenda for a day out in Palm beach.
I love Palm Beach its one of my favorite day trips from Sydney. You can catch the ferry across from there to a great picnic and camping spot for $5 - I cant remember the name of the place though. Palm beach is about an hour and a half bus trip along the norhern beaches in Sydney. Its well worth the trip though and really relaxing.

Another great thing to do from Palm Beach is catch the ferry across to Ettalong on the central coast on the weekends. Ettalong has fabulous markets and some lovely cafes. Ferries leave every couple of hours, and it only takes about half an hour.
