Fossils....Dinosaurs....."creatures of the slime".....not a Hollywood blockbuster but elements of an international palaeontology conference.
Australasian Palaeontologists (AAP) cordially invites all science/secondary students or anyone who interested in fossils to attend the Palaeo Down Under 2 (PDU2) conference in Adelaide (South Australia) on 11th-15th of July 2016.
Palaeo Down Under 2 features the participation of delegates from Australia and New Zealand as well as 12 other countries around the world.
The keynote speakers (all world renowned experts in their area of palaeo expertise) will open each day's program and the public are invited to attend (tickets $10pp purchased through event website or at the door) and enjoy these presentations.
Come and discover why South Australia enjoys a worldwide reputation for its fossil record from the 600-560mya ediacaran fossils of the Flinders Ranges, to extraordinary creatures from the Cambrian (Kangaroo Island), the ancient marine reptiles from the vast (Eromonga) inland sea around today's Coober Pedy and the megafauna of Burra, KI and Naracoorte Caves.
It's sure to be a fun, engaging and insightful week.
One particular highlight is the opportunity to hear from Dr Scott Hocknull, Australia's "Mr Dinosaur" who will talk about the dinosaur trackways of Queensland.
