"30 Years as a travel professional and international food lover"
Published April 30th 2012

Sunday yum cha is a bit of a family tradition for us and as we live in the Blue Mountains, it means we travel far and wide to appease this need. There are many options in Sydney and they all have their own appeal - but the Palace Chinese Restaurant (Shop 38 Level 1, Piccadilly Tower, 133 - 145 Castlereagh Street Sydney) is one of our favourites, not only is the yum cha good, but there are three other important aspects attractive to Blue Mountain Yum Cha Fanatics.

Firstly, the location of the Car Park in Piccadilly Tower means there is no hassle trying to find a park, generally on a Sunday we can be door to table in just under 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Secondly, the service is quick, which means that queuing at the door waiting for a table is almost non-existent. (We have waited at others for up to an hour on some weekends)

Thirdly, you also receive a discount parking voucher when you present your parking ticket to your waiter, this then leaves us free to explore the city for the rest of the afternoon before heading back to the tranquillity of the Mountains.

We have enjoyed many of the other Yum Cha restaurants around Sydney and find that this suits us as a great easy to get to option when time is a restraint.
