Williamstown Botanic Gardens on Saturday 22 April 2017 and enjoy
Paint the Gardens, a popular outdoor exhibition showcasing the talents of local artists and photographers.
Bring the whole family and a picnic along and enjoy free art workshops, walking tours, entertainment and face painting throughout the day. Refreshments will also be available.
Paint the Gardens , through its theme
Williamstown Botanic Gardens and Environs, invites you to share a secret vista, your favourite plant, a tree you adore, or a memory of times past. Show what you love about the Gardens by entering the Art and Photography Competition. There will be prizes on offer for participating artists in several categories including open, young artist (under 16) and photography.

The
Williamstown Botanic Gardens , were designed by Edward La Trobe Bateman and opened in 1860 and are one of Victoria's first public gardens. Today the gardens are a place to enjoy the peace and beauty of a mature formal garden and learn all about our horticultural heritage.
With its beautiful palms, elegant trees, winding pathways, a gorgeous Edwardian ornamental pond, lush green lawns and birdlife, the
Williamstown Botanic Gardens are the perfect place to relax.
With the Williamstown Beach Railway Station just a few minutes walk away and the ferry service a ten minute walk away, the gardens are easily accessible. On street parking is also available nearby.
The gardens are listed on the Victorian Heritage Register for their historical, horticultural and social significance and they are also listed on the National Register and classified by The National Trust of Australia. For more information on the history of the gardens, click

Friends of Williamstown Botanic Gardens (FOWBG) is a community-based organisation that encourages participation and appreciation of the
Williamstown Botanic Gardens by advocating, supporting and representing the interests of the garden across the community. New members are always welcome.
