Denim diehards will love this makeover
Denim lovers will be delighted to know that they can extend the life of old jackets and jeans by jazzing them up with personal artwork. At a paint-and-sip denim art class being hosted by Serendipity Op Shop in West End, art teacher PJ will be sharing her techniques in how to transform old denim.

At a previous denim art class, there were some stunning makeovers of jackets, jeans, shorts, and even a handbag. Teacher PJ will be providing advice and expertise on applying acrylic textile paint to create unique pieces of clothing. Art novices will be relieved that the class is "beginner-friendly" and PJ will be at hand to assist in the design.
If you don't have any denim clothing to paint on, you'll be able to choose something from the op shop racks at a 25% discount. But if denim isn't your thing, you can also bring other items along for the artistic makeover.
Eva Heyward, owner of Serendipity Op Shop, explained that the denim art class will allow people to reduce their clothing wastage by giving old garments a new look and extending the life of the item. She said: "With 6,000kg of clothing dumped in landfill every ten minutes in Australia, we're dedicated to raising awareness and providing our community where they can shop to theheart'srts content without leaving an eco-footprint."

The paint-and-sip class will provide all art supplies. Just bring along your old denim gear and a beverage of choice. The event is designed to be a fun and relaxed evening where you get to learn a new skill, meet new people, and take home a personalised piece of clothing.
