Located at the North Adelaide Village shopping centre in North Adelaide, Paesano serves a good range of European dishes, some of them being dishes associated with Italian cuisine such as pasta and pizza. During our visit, we ordered the Pollo Pizza, Herb Pizza Bread, Orecchiette Salsicce and the Rocky Road Calzone.

Their pizzas can be ordered either as nine inch or twelve inch pizza, with the nine inch size being enough for four people if you plan on sharing other dishes. The chicken and roast pumpkin of the Pollo Pizza were cooked just right with their taste heightened by the aioli. All of this, along with the Spanish onion and mozzarella was set off by the crispy base. The Herb Pizza Bread was also crispy with a hint of flavour coming from the topping of herbs.

Their Orecchiette Salsicce makes use of the unusual hade-made pasta known as orecchiette, the name meaning 'small ear' which is an accurate description of their shape. Salsicce is an Italian sausage that is made from pork and fennel. While the pasta was not cooked as well done as I had hoped, the accompanying Salsicce sauce complemented the pasta nicely with a wonderful texture coming from the cannellini beans and broccoli.

For dessert we ordered the Rocky Road Calzone consisting of a rich mixture of peanuts, chocolate, marshmallows, glace cherries and coconut encased in pastry with a topping of chocolate ganache. The chocolate mixture had a delectable chocolatey flavour with a bit of extra texture from the peanuts and marshmallows. The topping of chocolate ganache also helped to make the dish more moreish.

Despite its formal décor, the restaurant still had an inviting ambience and the tables were placed a good distance apart from each other. Plenty of off-street parking is also available in the basement of the North Adelaide Village centre.
